Urban Design — Master Plan + Architecture
El Encanto is El Salvador’s most exclusive residential and golf community, with a course designed by Pete Dye. Castillo Arquitectos led the master planning for its residential expansion and future development, in collaboration with an international multidisciplinary team of experts in urban design, architecture, and club houses and resorts, through an intensive five-day participatory design process.
The plan sets out a four-pillar strategy — mobility, public space, housing, and ecological landscape — and organizes the project’s growth in stages, with a street network designed for pedestrian mobility, a mix of housing typologies, and a focus on restoring the natural landscape.
Castillo Arquitectos also led the architectural design for the renovation and expansion of the Casa Club, with Stage 1 already completed, and currently leads the design of new housing typologies that expand El Encanto’s residential offering.
