Urban Design — Master Plan + Architecture
Nueva Miramar is a 1,000+ hectare master plan created by Gehl Architects, an internationally acclaimed Danish urban design firm, in collaboration with Castillo Arquitectos, combining global urban design expertise with Castillo Arquitectos’ deep knowledge of the Guatemalan market, culture, and context.
Located in Coatepeque, on the eastern part of Guatemala, the plan transforms a predominantly agricultural landscape into a complete urban community, organized around public space, with a mix of residential and commercial uses and the site’s landscape as the design’s starting point.
It’s one of the most ambitious urban development projects currently underway in Guatemala, setting a new standard for people-centered planning in Central America. Castillo Arquitectos is also developing the architecture for its first phase: a commercial district, a natural park, and a sports park.
Whether you’re envisioning a new community, a distinctive residence, or a transformative urban project, we’re here to help bring your vision to life.
